WHAT MY KID IS TALKING ABOUT
What is the SRI?
The Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI) is a research-based, computer-adaptive reading assessment program that will be used for students in Grades Kindergarten–12 that measures reading comprehension on the Lexile Framework® for Reading.
This is a computer based test that every student takes. Through this program our teachers are able to place students in specific groups based on their personal needs and abilitites, to better serve them in reading.

What is AIMSweb?
AIMSweb is a benchmark and progress monitoring system based on direct, frequent and continuous student assessment. The results are reported to students, parents, teachers and administrators via a web-based data management and reporting system to determine response to intervention. The AIMSweb system components provide one comprehensive progress monitoring and RTI Solution.
How Does AIMSweb Work?

- Benchmark – Assess all students three times per year for universal screening (early identification), general education progress monitoring, and AYP accountability.
- Strategic Monitor – Monitor at-risk students monthly and evaluate the effectiveness of instructional changes.
- Progress Monitor – Write individualized annual goals and monitor more frequently for those who need intensive instructional services.
What is a LNF?
DIBELS Letter Naming Fluency (LNF) is a standardized, individually administered test that provides a measure of risk. Students are presented with a page of upper- and lower-case letters arranged in a random order and are asked to name as many letters as they can. Students are told if they do not know a letter they will be told the letter. The student is allowed 1 minute to produce as many letter names as he/she can, and the score is the number of letters named correctly in 1 minute.
What Should My LNF Score Look Like?

Your students score will be a number based out of one hundred. For example if your child named 36 letters in one minute, thier score would be 36. Students are considered at risk for difficulty achieving early literacy benchmark goals if they perform in the lowest 20% of students in their grade. The 20th percentile is calculated using local school norms. Students are considered at some risk if they perform between the 20th and 40th percentile using local norms. Students are considered at low risk if they perform above the 40th percentile using local norms. Please see your child's teacher to find EFE norms.
